Dr. Yonas Adaye Adeto, PhD

 

Yonas Adeye Adeto is Commissioner at the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission and former Director of the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) at Addis Ababa University (AAU). He has contributed to major regional and international initiatives on peace, conflict transformation, and security.

He serves as an Associate Professor of Peace Studies, and previously served as Director of IPSS at Addis Ababa University. He has published peer-reviewed articles in international journals and edited book chapters on themes including: Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution, Security Sector Governance, Peace Education, Preventing Violent Extremism/Terrorism, Diplomacy, International Relations, Global Security, and Regional Security.

He has taught at Addis Ababa University for more than twenty-five years and continues to offer MA and PhD courses on the theories, issues, and practice of Peace, Global Security, and Regional Security across Africa and internationally.

Dr. Adeto holds a PhD in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford, UK.
