1. Purpose

HRL Journal Service is committed to maintaining the integrity, independence, transparency, and credibility of its academic and publishing activities. This Advertisement Policy establishes the principles governing the acceptance, placement, presentation, and management of advertisements appearing on HRL Journal Service websites, publications, newsletters, electronic communications, social media platforms, and other associated channels.

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that advertising activities do not influence editorial decisions, peer-review processes, research publication, or the academic independence of HRL Journal Service.

3. Editorial Independence

Advertising and editorial activities must remain separate. The acceptance or rejection of an advertisement must not influence:

Authors, editors, reviewers, and researchers must not receive preferential treatment because they or their institutions purchase advertising services.

4. Acceptance of Advertisements

HRL Journal Service reserves the right to accept or reject any advertisement at its discretion. Advertisements may be accepted where they are:

  • Relevant to researchers, students, academics, institutions, or professionals.
  • Accurate and not misleading.
  • Consistent with ethical academic and professional practices.
  • Clearly distinguishable from editorial content.
  • Compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Appropriate for the intended audience.

Acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute endorsement of the advertiser, product, service, institution, or organization by HRL Journal Service.

5. Prohibited Advertisements

HRL Journal Service will not knowingly accept advertisements that:

  • Contain false, deceptive, or misleading information.
  • Promote fraudulent academic or publishing services.
  • Guarantee publication or manuscript acceptance.
  • Offer fabricated research, falsified data, or ghostwritten academic work intended for submission as original work.
  • Encourage plagiarism or academic misconduct.
  • Promote predatory or deceptive publishing practices.
  • Misrepresent journal indexing, impact factors, rankings, or accreditation.
  • Promote illegal products or services.
  • Contain discriminatory, hateful, abusive, defamatory, or threatening material.
  • Promote unsafe, fraudulent, or malicious websites.
  • Contain malware, phishing links, or deceptive downloads.
  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Falsely imply endorsement by HRL Journal Service.

Advertisements that could reasonably damage the reputation or academic integrity of HRL Journal Service may also be rejected.

6. Identification of Advertisements

Advertisements must be clearly identifiable as advertising content. Where necessary, advertisements may be marked with terms such as:

  • "Advertisement"
  • "Sponsored"
  • "Sponsored Content"
  • "Promotional Content"
  • "Paid Advertisement"

Advertising content must not be designed in a way that could reasonably cause readers to mistake it for peer-reviewed research, editorial content, or an official recommendation from HRL Journal Service.

7. Sponsored Content

Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed. Any article, announcement, feature, or other material funded or supported by an external organization must clearly indicate the nature of the sponsorship.

Sponsored content must not:

  • Be presented as independent peer-reviewed research unless it has undergone the appropriate review process.

Advertisements containing disruptive pop-ups, misleading buttons, forced redirects, malicious code, or intrusive technology will not be permitted.

11. External Links

Advertisements may contain links to third-party websites.

HRL Journal Service is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, security, products, services, or activities of external websites operated by advertisers.

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that destination links remain active, relevant, safe, and consistent with the approved advertisement.

HRL Journal Service may remove advertisements linking to inappropriate, misleading, or unsafe websites.

12. Data and Privacy

Advertisements must comply with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

Advertisers must not use HRL Journal Service advertisements to improperly collect personal information from users.

Where tracking technologies, cookies, or similar tools are used, appropriate disclosure and consent mechanisms should be implemented where required.

Personal information obtained through HRL Journal Service should not be sold, misused, or processed for unauthorized purposes.

13. Advertising and Academic Publishing

Advertising must not compromise recognized principles of research and publication ethics. HRL Journal Service will not permit advertising arrangements that require:

  • Guaranteed manuscript publication.
  • Guaranteed positive peer review.
  • Preferential editorial decisions.
  • Citation manipulation.
  • Artificial increases in article citations.
  • Misrepresentation of academic credentials.

Editorial and peer-review decisions must be based solely on academic merit, relevance, ethical compliance, and applicable editorial standards.

14. Advertising Fees

Advertising fees may vary depending on:

Advertising fees must not be linked to manuscript acceptance or editorial outcomes.

19. Changes to Advertisements

Advertisements may not be materially altered after approval without further review by HRL Journal Service. Any significant changes to:

may require renewed approval before publication.

20. Transparency

HRL Journal Service is committed to transparency in its advertising practices.

Advertising revenue must not determine the academic conclusions, editorial opinions, or research findings presented through HRL Journal Service.
