Crossmark Policy

Crossmark Policy

HRL Journal Service • Academic Publishing Standards

1. Commitment to Quality

HRL Journal Service is dedicated to the long-term preservation of the scholarly record. We participate in the Crossmark initiative to provide a transparent and reliable way for researchers to verify the current status of published content across our network, including the Journal of Business and Finance in East and Horn of Africa

Technical Implementation: Clicking the Crossmark button provides immediate notification regarding the status of a document—confirming if it is the "Version of Record" or if updates, corrections, or retractions have been issued.

2. Correction & Retraction Standards

HRL Journal Service adheres strictly to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. We maintain a formal process for any changes made after publication:

  • Corrigenda: Published for significant errors identified by the authors.
  • Errata: Published for significant errors introduced by the publisher.
  • Retractions: Issued for cases involving data invalidation, ethical breaches, or severe plagiarism.

3. Version Control

Any modification to a published article is registered as a formal event with Crossref and assigned its own unique DOI. We do not practice "silent corrections." This ensures that the history of the scholarly work remains fully traceable for the global research community.
