Biography

Professor Désiré Mashinda Kulimba is a Medical Doctor, Epidemiologist, Biostatistician, and Public Health Project Manager with over 20 years of experience in public health research, epidemiological surveillance, health systems strengthening, operational research, and capacity building in Africa. He is the Former Director of the Kinshasa School of Public Health and has served as Principal Investigator for numerous international research and surveillance projects.

He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Kinshasa. Professor Mashinda Kulimba possesses extensive expertise in outbreak preparedness and response, health policy development, and the management of large-scale international health projects. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, mobilized resources, and established strategic partnerships with major global bodies, including the CDC, World Bank, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, GAVI, Global Fund, Africa CDC, EDCTP, AFENET, and FHI.
