Mercy Kaburu Kathambi, PhD

Dr. Mercy Kathambi Kaburu is an accomplished scholar and Assistant Professor of International Relations and BA Program Leader. She is a specialist in international relations, diplomacy, regional integration, and governance in Africa, with extensive experience in both teaching and research.
Dr. Kaburu holds a PhD in International Relations from the United States International University–Africa (USIU-Africa), a Master of Arts in International Conflict Management from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Kenyatta University. She has also obtained professional qualifications in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and education from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Kagumo Teachers Training College.
Her scholarly and professional interests focus on Kenya’s foreign policy and diplomacy, regional integration within the East African Community (EAC), women and political participation, women in peace and security, and democracy and governance in Kenya. Through teaching, research, and academic leadership, Dr. Kaburu contributes to advancing knowledge in international relations, regional peace and security, and multilateral diplomacy.
