The East African Journal of International Relations is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing empirical and theoretical research on diplomacy, international politics, regional integration, and global governance with a focus on East and the Horn of Africa. The journal provides a platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share high-quality, policy-relevant work that deepens understanding of international relations and regional cooperation in Africa.

Founded in 2025, the East African Journal of International Relations was created to fill a critical gap in academic publishing for region-specific international relations research. It aims to elevate African perspectives in global diplomacy and governance discourse and foster knowledge production that informs policy and practice.
